         Second Palestinian International Conference on Computer & IT

The 2nd Palestinian International Conference on Computer and Information Technology (PICCIT 07) is a forum for scientists, engineers and practitioners to present their latest research results and applications in all areas of computer science, computer engineering and information technology.

This conference will include plenary lectures, oral presentations, workshops, and tutorials. To facilitate international and regional participation, some sessions will be conducted through Video Conference.

********** Paper Submission **********
Researchers from academic institutions as well as private sector are invited to submit a full paper describing their work, maximum of 10 single-space pages including illustrations. The first page should include the title, authors and their affiliations, abstract, and key words. A final preparation format is available on the conference website at http://piccit.ppu.edu.

********** Evaluation Process **********
Each paper will be evaluated by two reviewers. The evaluation is based on technical merits, soundness of results, and clarity of presentation, importance and usefulness of the research topic. Before final acceptance, all reviewers’ comments must be considered. Accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings.


**********Palestine Polytechnic University (PPU)**********
PPU was established in 1978 by the imitative of University Graduates Union aiming at serving the Palestinian community by offering a wide range of distinguished programs that are tailored towards the society needs; in 1990, PPU pioneered the Computer Systems Engineering program, one year later it launched the Information Systems program. Currently, the four colleges at PPU offer computer related programs. On the other hand, the specialized Friends of Fawzi Kawash IT Center of Excellence (FFKITCE) was established in 2005 to address the professional community needs in Information Technology.

**********Conference Venue**********
PICCIT ‘07 is scheduled to take place in September when the city of Hebron is at its best climate condition of the year. In this time, farmers harvest their summer fruits. Located in the southern part of the West Bank, (about 25 kilometers to the south of Jerusalem and about 1000 meters above sea level), the holy city of Hebron has a population of 682,000 according to recent statistics. Tours will be organized for participants around the city of Hebron.
