Ms. Doha Abdelkhaleq, Ms. Rania Abu-Shukor and Mr. Bilal Abuzeid as representatives on behalf of int@j's Human Resources Committee attended a workshop Monday, March 7, 2005 entitled "The Relationship between the Academia and the Industry", focusing on closing the gap between what the Jordanian Academia offers and what the sector needs, and hence presenting/proposing a common vision.

The focal point of the workshop, the (proposed) vision, encompassed "an educational system of high quality that has the ability to (graduate) produce skilled and specialized individuals in various fields of knowledge that meets the current and future (demands) needs of society, in accordance to achieving sustainable economic and social growth.

The workshop was a joint effort by Yarmouk University and Jordan University of Science and Technology, who have been spearheading this campaign along with int@j, and was organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

The workshop and campaign's main objectives are to create a skilled and specialized workforce in various fields to meet society's demands; to provide an academic, psychological, and social environment that fosters creativity, uniqueness, innovation and thriving talents; encourages and supports scientific research, raising it to a new standard of excellence, with emphasis on applied scientific research directed towards serving and developing the community.
