International Brownfield Development and Production Optimization

Under the patronage of H.E. Eng. Sameh Fahmy, Minister of Petroleum of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Egypt Oil & Gas is organizing the International Brownfield Development and Production Optimization Conference and Exhibition; a technical conference and exhibition designed to bring together information, experience and research highlighting the importance and means of revitalizing mature fields

Considered the most important and focused event in the brownfields industry, the brownfield conference follows the success of our Brownfield Development & Production Optimization Workshop, which took place in March 2006 and reflected the great value of Brownfields in yielding positive returns on investment, in particular with the current high and encouraging oil & gas prices

Brownfields redevelopment is not solely an environmental issue as it requires the involvement of the financial, regulatory and community interests that make the whole process complicated. The Brownfield conference presents a full image of this process by discussing various aspects, such as identification and quantification of remaining hydrocarbons, methods of reaching production optimization, economic barriers of brownfields, demonstration of improved reservoir management techniques… and much more

The International Brownfield Development and Production Optimization Conference and Exhibition will be held at the Cairo International Convention and Exhibition Centre (CICC) in Cairo, Egypt.

Overview

Mature fields occur throughout the world. Today, there are an extensive number of fields that are late in their lives and others that have passed their production peak. Moreover, today’s new fields will eventually become mature fields. Consequentially this presents great technological challenges. Hence, and as our world will benefit economically, environmentally, and socially from brownfields redevelopment, as an industry, we need to address the proper requirements for applied technology to enhance underperforming fields and reach our vision of optimizing mature fields to become more useful and productive

Objectives

  • Demonstrating the necessity of applying the concept of mature field's revitalization
  • Providing cost effective technologies and applications in drilling, completion and production
  • Understanding and breaking the economic barriers of brownfields.
  • Predicting the distribution of remaining oil by improved reservoir management techniques
  • Optimizing the method of existing production
  • Providing new agreement terms and regulations for more investments

Topic Categories Include

  • New scenario and technologies for mature field's production optimization:
    • Drilling and well technologies
    • Application of 2D and 3D
    • Production and reservoir engineering
    • Completion and artificial lifting art of science
  • Defining a mature field and establishing the challenges involved in exploring it
  • Gained experience in mature fields as a planning tool application in green fields
  • Government as a facilitator for new technology applications: Current obstacles and recommended actions
  • Taking the decision to re-invest: the economics of a Brownfield
  • Intergarted Reservoir and assest management in Brownfields
  • Improving recovery from mature assests
  • Intergrated planning to reduce the risk of managing mature assests

Interactive Panel Sessions Include

Panel Sessions 1: Proven Technology versus New Technology in a mature environment
Panel Sessions 2: Key personal challenges you need to overcome in order to succeed
