Expotech 2010

For the fourth year in a row the ExpoTech 2010, was a huge success in Palestine. This year the ExpoTech offered its participants an extraordinary array of new technologies, innovative solutions, and both international and nationally developed equipment.

EXPOTECH 2010

For the fourth year in a row the ExpoTech 2010, was a huge success in Palestine. This year the ExpoTech offered its participants an extraordinary array of new technologies, innovative solutions, and both international and nationally developed equipment. This year’s event was sponsored by foreign companies, and for the first time Universities had the chance to participate.

The event included speakers such as Ala’ Aladdin, Chairman of PITA/PICTI, Dr. Mashhour Abu Daka, Minister of Telecom and IT and Dr. Hasan Abu Libdeh, Minister of National Economy, who discussed issues ranging from “interest in the local market” to “Palestine post office” to the “illegal distribution of products”.

The 4 panels focused on “IT Business in Palestine” with Dr. Sabri Saidam, and Mr. Nick White; “Telecom and Broadband” with Mr. Amer Al Aker, Paltel CEO; and “Technology Entrepreneurship/Financing” with Mr. Usama Fayyad, Chairman of OASIS 500, and Mr. Victor Hwang. The last panel “Technology Trends” was addressed by Mr. Tareq Maayah, CEO of Exalt, and Mr. Arrabi who focused on answering heated questions about Arabic Content.

The second day of the conference began with a session about the “e-Government” then about “Strategies to Grow the ICT Sector” and finally “IT Education”. During these sessions many debates took place, and many questions were asked. During the second panel “Strategies to Grow the ICT Sector” a debate occurred upon the cooperation platform between the private and public sector.
