IPR ROUNDTABLE
Saturday the 24th was the date that held the IPR Roundtable, an event that hosted select individuals to discuss the current Intellectual Property situations in Lebanon, and the challenges that we may later face. The Roundtable also provided the attendees with an opportunity to question and confer any concerns that they might have. When discussing an immense issue such as the IPR situation in Lebanon, there can be no solution initiated and directly implemented. It is a time consuming process that should regard the different components of the Lebanese environment. What was established at the Roundtable [as sugessted by Mr. Nizar Zakka] is that the citizens of Lebanon need to gain trust in the idea of property rights, and that is why a possible solution would be to extend the knowledge about IPR through local community centers, like IJMA3’s Center for Excellence in the Southern Suburbs of Lebanon for example. It is through these small communities that the first steps of initiating a solution should take place. |
