Bahrain companies to take part in Gitex

Bahrain is taking part in Gitex 2010, representing private and public sectors, for the fourth successive year.Gitex 2010 will be held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre from October 17 to 21 with the participation of the largest regional and international information and communication technology (ICT)companies.

Bahrain is taking part in Gitex 2010, representing private and public sectors, for the fourth successive year.Gitex 2010 will be held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre from October 17 to 21 with the participation of the largest regional and international information and communication technology (ICT)companies.

The signing ceremony was attended by Mohammed Al Qaed, representing the e-Government Authority, Mohammed Ebrahim on behalf of Tamkeen, Ahmed Al Hujairi, representing Bahrain ICT Suppliers Trade Association (Bista) and Gulf Future Business (GFB), and Nawaf Abdulrahman, representing Bahrain Internet Society (BIS).

Bahrain's pavilion will include the e-Government Authority from the public sector, in addition to 20 private sector institutions supported by Tamkeen in co-operation with the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) and the BIS.

Registration at the kingdom's pavilion is still open.

'Gitex 2010, is one of the largest specialised exhibitions in the ICT field and the e-Government Authority is keen to participate in this annual event which attracts a large number of local and international companies in the field of technology,' said the authority's CEO Mohammed Ali Al Qaed.

'Tamkeen's support to ICT institutions in Bahrain comes in the framework of supporting and enhancing small and medium enterprises sector as part of Tamkeen's programme, in order to exchange experiences and encourage greater investment opportunities and co-operation at the external level, thus promoting Bahrain's reputation as a pioneer in the field of ICT,' Ibrahim said.

Al Hujairi praised the co-operation between the public sector represented by the e-Government Authority and Tamkeen and private sector institutions.

The GFB is organising, in co-operation with Bista, a workshop to familiarise all entities taking part in the exhibition on the nature of the expo and other actors involved in it.
