To tear down the communication barrier between Iran, Iraq and Syria, the three countries agreed on a telecommunication project that shall link them together. The countries of Iran, Iraq and Syria recently signed a tripartite agreement on putting up of optical fiber network that will link the three countries in telecommunication. Signatories in the agreement were representatives of Iran's Telecommunication Infrastructure Company, Iraq's Al-Sard Group and Syria Telecom. The tripartite agreement was signed during a meeting hosted by TIC in the capital of Iran last Tuesday. The telecommunication deal signed by the three countries provides that data and voice signals will be transmitted from Iran to Iraq to Syria and the rest of the European countries. TIC Managing Director Mahmoud Khosravi said that this undertaking is part of the company's international macro policies. Under the TIC's international macro policies, the company seeks to establish telecommunication links with the neighboring countries of Iran. Khosravi said new opportunities like more jobs, modernization and improved trade between the three countries are just some of their mutual benefits. Further, the project will allow Syria to utilize TIC’s network using a secure and reliable route for communicating with countries across the world. TIC has the monopoly over Iran's telecommunication infrastructures and owner of the largest cellular operator and internet provider. TIC has worked in the last years to develop its capacity and services making it the company with the most advanced equipment and services.
