Dr. Hamad bin Al Sheikh Al Shaibani, Director General of IACAD, who launched the service at the Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Mosque in Jumierah, said the worshippers can access the 24/7 service on mobile phones and smart tablets through the QR code (Quick Response Code), which is used for the first time in government buildings in the UAE.

Phase one, he added, would cover nine mosques.

Nasser Mubarak, IT Head at IACAD, explained that the project provides a sophisticated channel of communication with mosque goers who can obtain general information about a history, construction, capacity and category of certain mosque. Other e-services include donation, suggestions and complaints, and faults reporting.
