The "Women Alliance for Virtual Exchange" WAVE, the largest alliance of non-governmental associations and civil society organizations from 12 countries from the Middle East, North Africa and Central Asia, launched a campaign to celebrate the International Women’s Day, which takes place on March 8.

As part of WAVE’s campaign to support women on the International Women’s Day, the Alliance called women through social networking sites to send a short video to answer the question, "As a woman, how did the information technology and the ability to access the Internet help in the development or improvement of your life?" These videos can be shared through the Hashtag of this special campaign #WAVE_Techwomen. Many women from across the countries have responded to this campaign through saying that technology and the ability to access the Internet has enabled them to better integrate in the community and to develop their work status and their education.

The Alliance stressed,  through its campaign “Gender Equality Within multi-stakeholderism”,  on the importance of unifying the efforts of organizations to raise their voices and incitement to build a better future for women and men in a more stable and prosperous world.
