The MENA ICT Week is the region’s premier ICT event, held in Jordan, under the Royal Patronage of His Majesty King Abdullah II. Previously organized, with great success, in 2002; 2004; and 2006 as “Jordan ICT Week”, and in 2010 as “MENA ICT Week”, this important event will take place in March 6 & 7, 2013, at the King Hussein Bin Talal Convention Center, Dead Sea - Jordan. The event is expanding to showcase the entire MENA region’s ICT success stories, and discuss latest trends, opportunities and future outlook.
The main theme of the event is "Arab ICT Spring: Realizing Potential", featuring: ICT Expo, Innovations & Entrepreneurship Theater, Business Matching Sessions, Arab Golden Chip Awards, and other Networking Events.
The event features a content-rich agenda that covers vital current and future issues related to regional investment climates, legislative supportive systems, infrastructure & communications, emerging technologies, as well as education & human capital development.
In particular, the MENA ICT Week addresses these issues in a context that is highly relevant to the MENA region, thus providing the business community, decision makers and stakeholders with a holistic overview of the region’s current position, opportunities on hand and recommended approach for leveraging its potential.
Furthermore, ICT globally has been taking a deeper sectorial focus such as ICT in Education, Health, Banking, Insurance, Energy, and other sectors, hence the MENA ICT Week 2013 will address main vertical sectors and ICT integration/diffusion in those as key areas to increase productivity and accelerate economic development. Moreover, the event provides a platform for renowned keynote speakers to offer their global perspectives about the MENA region and provide valuable advice and insight.
Previously featured keynote speakers included H.M. King Abdullah II, Intel’s CEO Dr. Craig Barrett, Cisco’s Chairman, Mr. John Chambers, 3Com’s CEO, Mr. Edgar Masri, Devoteam Co-Founder and Co-CEO, Mr. Stanislas de Bentzmann, Amazon CTO & VP, Dr. Werner Vogels, Sun Microsystems' Chief Researcher, Mr. John Gage, among others.
