Winners of Arab eContent Award 2005

The Arab e-Content Award acclaims the best e-Contents from: Algeria, Bahrain, Djibouti, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Syrian Arab Republic, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates, Yemen

Winners of Arab eContent Award 2005

Bahrain has hosted experts from more than 36 countries last September in the framework of WSA Grand Jury. After a week of hard work, 40 winners were announced as the best practices in 8 categories in the world, you can see the winners by clicking this link.

There were also 30 winners on Arab level (see the table below)

This year Arab countries had the following success in these fields:

  1. 7 Jurors from Arab countries VS. 4 in 2003 (A Juror from Jordan could not make it in the last minute)
  2. 7 winners from Arab countries VS. 4 in 2003
  3. Arab eContent Award initiative, which we should capitalize on and make it a model for a success story in the Arab world.

The award’s gala has taken place in Tunis during WSIS on 16 November, 2005. “The WSA Gala in Tunis was the perfect framework to create awareness for the outstanding performance of Arab e-Content products in this year’s contest. The best Arab producers were honored with a special distinction: The Arab e-Content Award, the first award of its kind in the region.“
